Many people wonder how the price for a vehicle wrap is calculated, so we would like to share this information in order to give you an idea.
Our wraps begin with a calculated formula = price per sqft of material + price per sqft for labor + design time. Fees are added for rush orders, additional design time and projects outside of our standard territory. Although we do have our standard vinyl with laminate, if a client requests a specific type of material, window perforation, or if it is a more temporary project, etc., then the price may go up or down per sqft.
Generally, we start with $6 a sq for the printed material and laminate, which is for our standard vinyl. Then, depending on the level of design and size of project, the art fee ranges from $150 – $750. If a client wants an illustration, it will be an hourly rate which we will evaluate during our initial client-designer consultation. If a client supplies us with a design, then the typical art time is about $200 for full wrap. Most of the time we are in the $350 range for a standard design, with an install estimate at $895 per day for a 300sqft project or $2.50 a sqft.
For example:
A standard cargo van (no roof, not extended and no window perforation) we would sell for $2650, depending on design level:
• Print = $1700
• Art = $300
• Install = $650
Sales tax is always additional.
A color change means performing a custom color wrap that gives the appearance of a new paint job. Graphics are paneled visually, ensuring the installation is as seamless as possible. This is done on both our private and commercial projects. We explain to those clients seeking a color change where the seams may be visible, so the final result will meet the clients’ expectations. This separates mediocrity from high quality. If customer chooses their wrap provider on price alone and the finished result is a “patch job”, they will not be happy and will have wasted their money. A wrap requires a highly skilled professional to ensure the best results. We are the experts and have wrapped thousands of vehicles, always treating each project as a piece of art.
Other factors include: the type of vehicle, current vehicle color, what color wrap they want, and if they want to include door jambs. Door jambs range from $350-950 depending on the type of vehicle, amount of doors, type of material, etc.
Drastic color changes have a longer installation time, as they usually require more vehicle disassembly. The color white is the hardest color to cover as you may see the white when viewed at certain directions. We will remove parts as needed and cover all angles possible, effectively hiding the original color. However, every vehicle is different and some may have inaccessible areas that do not allow for parts removal. This we can not help.
We inquire if the car is intended for a show. If the client is looking for “show” quality, then this will increase price.
Location can also be a factor. Usually, Miami pricing ranges from $2200 – $2,800. North Carolina, Texas, Georgia prices range around $2,500 – $3,300. California prices range from $2500 – $3500. Again, all of the factors differentiating the prices above depend on the type of vehicle and colors chosen.
